Below is the full text of the 2001 Translation as it was in December 2020. It is preserved here to show how much hard work went into it by the project’s first editor, Jim Wheeler, and the 200-or-so volunteers who helped over the course of 20 years.
It is also preserved here for anyone who wishes to reference the translation as it appeared before the new website was launched in 2021.
This project was:
- The first Bible translation made from the original languages by largely anonymous volunteers.
- The first English Bible which combined an OT from the Greek Septuagint and a NT which acknowledges that much of it may have been originally written in Aramaic.
- One of the few English translations to restore the Divine Name in the Old Testament.
- One of very few English translations to put the Divine Name in the New Testament.
The project continues to progress, and you can see the latest version here; but below is preserved the first 20 years of hard work.
